Caskets We are proud to be the NZ distributors for these beautiful willow caskets. They are hand produced by a sheltered workshop - Southland Enterprises - in Invercargill. The Enterprise provides employment opportunites for Adults with intellectual disabilities. The willow is grown and processed on the premises, and it takes John two weeks to make each casket. We line them with unbleached calico and a wool mattress, and cornstarch plastic. Click here to see more details.
Trubridge We commissioned David Trubridge, renowned New Zealand designer, to create a simple and sustainable casket and the result is this beautiful ply and jute 'vessel'. It is lightweight, and has jute straps which wrap under the casket, and hand-hewn carrying poles, so that the casket may be carried by any number of people. the casket comes with a wool and calico mattress, and pillow. Shroud We commissioned Miranda Brown, a leading sustainable designer in New Zealand, to create a shroud for us, to be used instead of a casket. We are very proud of the result - a stunning crushed silk 'cocoon', with a discreetly hidden ply base that has a wool and organic cotton cover, and a choice of coconut or shell buttons. Small ribbons and ties within the shroud ensure a sense of ceremony when closing, The shroud is available in a cream or turquoise colour.
Essence Greg Holdsworth has also designed this simple sustainable casket. It is also lightweight, lined with sheepskin, and may be decorated or left simply as it is.

Macrocarpa Caskets
This beautiful casket is manufactured in Auckland from macrocarpa, a sustainably managed timber. It is lined with cotton and a wool mattress, and the outer is polished with beeswax. Click here to see more details.
Cardboard
Caskets
For those wanting the simplest of options, we offer the plain cardboard casket. It can be decorated by family, or left as is. We have a wooden 'outer' for carrying, as shown. The casket comes with a woollen mattress and pillow. Everything is New Zealand made.
Baby Caskets
We commissioned these caskets from Southland Enterprises as we felt that current choices for baby caskets were limited. The little caskets are passed on at cost. They have a wool mattress, covered in white calico (click here to see more details).
